The best approach is to not try to write things that will go viral. No, the best approach is to write for just one person. Make an impact on just one person. Even better, make it so they can’t sleep that night unless they choose to make a difference for just one other person by sharing your message with them. The rest will take care of itself.

Seth Godin echoes Kurt Vonnegut, who in the seventh of his 8 timeless tips on writing advised, “Write to please just one person.” (via explore-blog)

Aligning Ourselves with the Unknown | VividLife.me

Love is always the answer, in the end, and in the beginning we just have to be alert and remember this ever-present love that connects us all and the more we focus on this love, the more it grows. If we are totally focused on this love, no matter what, then the outcome is sure to be extraordinarily intimate and one of unity.

An incomplete list of All The Damn Things I Did in 2011

It was a bit, for what was one of the best years of my life.

woman I admire!

We were talking about how light it feels on the Playa, how simple daily tasks are enhanced by human connection. Errands like getting coffee or ice can be amazing, just by the shear willingness of strangers to engage with you or at the least be kind and courteous. Imagine trying to start a conversation in line with someone at Starbucks, the way you would at center camp, they would think you were fucking nuts. Why is this? Because the positive energy in their life is so limited that they feel they have none for you. They feel it is finite, whether from work, home life and just a bad day. If they give time/energy to you what’s left for them? What’s sad is, it’s just the opposite. Positivity begets more positivity, something about the more you give, the more you yadda yadda yadda. The Playa reminds us it’s OK to give, it’s OK to plan to not plan, it’s OK to be loved, more than even you think you should be. So if I am the vessel of that message, so be it. There have been times out there where, I won’t say a word, just touch someone, hold their flesh and feel the current from one to another, it is undeniable. It may be someone who has had a verrrry long night, looking a little gray, a touch and a look in their eyes with a smile attached, will renew them, bring the color back, they may even get back up and dance. All with no words.

I lOVE the daily om

shone really helped me understand this so much.  although there is always room for more insight. once I stopped trying to decide everything right away, return every message even though it was shallow, and lacked thought and decisions, I always felt obligated to make contact and end up created a lot of unnecessary energies and distractions.  once I learned that the only time to truly make contact is when I truly have something of value in return to share, or say, then better things came out of my interactions and decisions.

and it’s always appreciative to receive reminder messages like this when I wake up. :)  repetition is key for me to set my optimal habits, and least resistive path.

Consulting Heart and Mind

Each of the myriad decisions we make every day has the potential to have a deep impact on our lives. Some choices touch us to our very cores, awakening poignant feelings within us. Others seem at first to be simple but prove to be confusingly complex. We make the best decisions when we approach the decision-making process from a balanced emotional and intellectual foundation. When we have achieved equilibrium in our hearts and in our minds, we can clearly see both sides of an issue or alternative. Likewise, we can accept compromise as a natural fact of life. Instead of relying solely on our feelings or our rationality, we utilize both in equal measure, empowering ourselves to come to a life-affirming and balanced conclusion. Balance within and balance without go hand in hand. When you are called upon to choose between two or more options, whether they are attractive or distasteful, you should understand all you can about the choice ahead of you before moving forward. If you do not come to the decision from a place of balance, you risk making choices that are irrational and overly emotional or are wholly logical and don’t take your feelings into account. In bringing your thoughts and emotions together during the decision-making process, you ensure that you are taking everything possible into account before moving forward. Nothing is left up to chance, and you have ample opportunity to determine which options are in accordance with your values. Though some major decisions may oblige you to act and react quickly, most will allow you an abundance of time in which to mull over your choices. If you doubt your ability to approach your options in a balanced fashion, take an extended time-out before responding to the decision. This will give you the interlude you need to make certain that your thoughts and feelings are in equilibrium. As you practice achieving balance, you will ultimately reach a state of mind in which you can easily make decisions that honor every aspect of the self.
